Edina Hornets vs Thunder Bay Kings
The final round robin game of the 2026 Border Battle Cup delivered a tight finish as the Thunder Bay Kings U15AAA edged the Edina Hornets 3 to 2 in overtime on February 14 at 7:00pm EST.
Edina opened the scoring early in the first period, but the Kings answered quickly. Alex Simeoni tied the game midway through the frame, and Cullen McCormack followed with a short handed goal to give Thunder Bay a 2 to 1 lead after one.
The Hornets battled back and found the equalizer late in the third period to force overtime. In the extra frame, McCormack struck again at 1:43 to seal the win and complete a two goal performance. Thunder Bay closed out the round robin with a composed effort and a statement victory heading into the playoff round.
